We are currently seeking a full-time Director for Avanti Italia, based in Scandicci, a suburb of Florence.
This leadership role includes mentoring young adults as they serve in Italy, overseeing daily operations of the Florence Bible School, and fostering partnerships with the Florence Church of Christ and other congregations throughout Italy. The director will work alongside the College Church and former program leaders to ensure a smooth transition and will receive training and support as they grow into the role.
About Our Program
Started in 1986, Avanti Italia is a program which exists to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ in Italy. Based in Scandicci, a suburb of the historic city of Florence, the program invites followers of Christ to intentional Christian living as a way to share Christ with those they come into contact with.
Participants teach Bible and the English language at the Florence Bible School while also learning Italian language and culture in order to form meaningful relationships with their students. Participants are also encouraged to utilize their personal talents and interests to create purposeful connections with members of the community.
In addition, various events organized by churches across Italy present opportunities for participants to grow with and encourage the greater church body. It is our earnest hope and prayer to see the Lord raise up disciples in Italy who will lead others to Him. It is our deepest honor to partner with Him in this work by spreading the good news and discipling those who receive it.
